Zakynthos Town, with its colourful, Italian-style houses, is only
a 10-minute taxi ride away. The views from the Venetian fortress above the town are breathtaking, while the wide plateau of Solomos Square with the church of St Nicholas in one corner, is one of the town's four main squares. Car hire is available from the resort.

Boat trips from the busy harbour visit some amazing locations, such as the mysterious shipwreck at smugglers cove or the uninhabited island of Marathonissi, one of the most important nesting sites for loggerhead turtles in Europe.
